Antoine Leclercq Brussel, 1983°

Antoine Leclercq, the talented Belgian sculptor, has a fascinating background and an impressive artistic journey. Born in Brussels in 1983, he left his native Belgium at a young age to live in Africa and French Polynesia until he was 18 years old. His interest in sculpture and graphic arts developed in parallel with his deep connection with the rich world of wild flora and fauna.
Antoine Leclercq naturally let his experiences and travels lead him to studies in landscape architecture. He worked in large architectural firms for about ten years while his interest in abstract monumental art and the use of steel grew. He found inspiration from renowned sculptors such as Eduardo Chillida, Bernar Venet, Philippe Hiquily, Constantin Brāncusi, Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, and Beverly Pepper.
At the age of 27 he created his first monumental sculpture, followed by private commissions. He discovered welding Corten steel, a material he still admires. His sculptures are abstract, but always imbued with human expression: movement, balance, dance, harmony. After many commissions he decided to focus entirely on sculpture. His works have been exhibited at international art fairs and open-air exhibitions. One of his monumental creations, called "Les Alliances", is now in public spaces in Belgium. Antoine Leclercq's sculptures are not only abstract, but also lively and harmonious thanks to the use of Corten steel. This material evolves with time and the seasons, just like nature itself. As a self-taught sculptor, Antoine produces all his works himself, except for the very large pieces.
