Catherine Vanhullebusch Brussels, 1978°

Catherine Vanhullebusch is a self-taught abstract painter from Brussels. A perfectionist and thinker, she has found a new way to interact with the world through her art. She is now guided by intuition and enjoys the tangible joy of creating with her hands. Her work is about freedom - freedom from over-analyzing, rules and the freedom to experiment and make mistakes. Catherine believes that the environment we design has a direct influence on our emotions. Her minimalist, abstract works invite viewers to think about how we shape our world and therefore ourselves. She trusts the process of creation, knowing that the most valuable results often come from dirty hands and countless failed experiments. According to her, freedom is something that we must actively claim. Catherine's work reminds us that true creative freedom means having the courage to push boundaries, question norms, and step outside your comfort zone. Her works are minimalist in form but rich in meaning, celebrating the contrast between simplicity and complexity, emptiness and dynamism.
