Extra info: Original painting on canvas by Roger Raveel.
ultimately for material reasons, later suspected of an ecological involvement, the couple Roger and Zulma Raveel maintained a vegetable garden with accompanying orchard behind their home for life. Of course there was a compost heap for the kitchen waste.
Rare are the creations within Raveel's oeuvre that were not preceded by the artist's direct visual experience. His homely environment and rural environment were central then, but even when Raveel went on a trip, he never forgot to take painting and drawing material with him.
So it is not at all surprising that artist Roger Raveel has immortalized his orchard graphically and pictorially countless times. Similar to him just looking through the window of his studio. The canvas Tree in a painting window from 1978 is a good example of this.
